Project Sri Lanka

What is Project Sri Lanka?

Redhill School have formed a link with a small village school in Sri Lanka that is in desperate need of any support we can give to them. Moragalla Junior School is situated in Beruwela an area that was hit by the tsunami in 2004. Many families are still struggling to live day by day as many of their businesses or employment were destroyed. These families have no money to send their children to bigger schools in larger towns which have resources all be it limited compared to Redhill.

Our goal is to raise funds in order to support Moragalla Junior School.

What Have We Achieved?

Thanks to the fundraising efforts of Redhill School pupils, staff, parents and Friends of Redhil, Morgalla Junior School was able to build a brand new building that expanded the school and increased the number of attending pupils. The opening ceremony took place on 20/07/2016 and was the ribbon was cut by our Headteacher Chris McGrail, who initiated the project with the Eden Hotel and Spa.

Fundrasinng has included many cake sales, busking, sponsored walks, non-uniform days, productions, talent contests, fairs and sweet sales to name a few.
