Redhill Ski Trip February 2023!

Over the February half term, our second ski trip of this academic year took place as a large group of Year 9 and 10 students, accompanied by our lovely staff, travelled to Andorra! They had a fantastic time learning and improving their skiing skills, socialising on evenings and dressing up for the slopes!

The trip began with everyone making the most of the warm, beautiful weather, in the stunning mountainous backdrop. Some of our students learnt how to move away from the snow plough style into parallel turns:

Day 3 brought an even lower drop in temperature, and lots of snow! Misty slopes added an extra challenge for the students, but they did so well and showed great resilience! A few reflected on how proud they felt of their progress between day 1 and 3. It was also dress up day which added that extra element of fun!

Everyone got involved on the first evening in Bingo, led by Mr Mulka and Mr Toland and a Quiz led by Mr Rashid. The winners received lots of chocolate!

By the end of the second day, the beginners had gotten to the top of their first slope, while other groups got tried small jumps on the sides of pistes! The weather took a cooler, cloudier turn - the perfect conditions needed. An amazing day, but hard work!

The students enjoyed another evening activity - bowling! A nice respite after a heavy day of snow and fancy dress!

On the final day, students received their certificates for their achievements through the week. Congratulations all!

Special thanks to Mr Field for planning and organising both of our ski trips this year - you are amazing! Also to the staff who gave up their own time to make the trip possible for our students, huge thanks!
