Our Values and Ethos

Welcome to Redhill School. We are a mixed, 11-16 comprehensive school with 1200 pupils. Students and staff are committed to our motto “Commitment to Excellence” which enables us to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Our focus is on outstanding teaching and learning designed to stretch and challenge our students in all areas of school life. All Redhill students have the right to an educational experience that will enable them, no matter what their starting point, to make progress, fulfil their potential and realise their ambitions.

It is my privilege as Headteacher to lead Redhill and it is my belief that every student should be at the centre of everything we do. Our core purpose is to raise their aspirations and ensure that all our students have the best five years of their school life. Whilst exam results are very important, Redhill offers a curriculum that develops the whole child. Our focus on high standards of behaviour and achievement enables us to develop our caring provision. We are a fully inclusive school in which pupils of all backgrounds are able to thrive, develop their talents and contribute both to the life of the school and the wider community. Our Pastoral and Enrichment areas provide excellent support for all of our pupils.

Our school is staffed by a team of fantastic teachers and support staff, who are committed to learning and ensuring the very best opportunities for our students. We are proud of our academic ethos and enrichment opportunities. Whilst we are focussed on academic outcomes, we ensure we work with our students as individuals. We take great pride in developing relationships between students, staff and families.

Redhill School is one of the highest achieving schools in Dudley and Nationally. However, we do not measure success purely by academic attainment. Our curriculum is designed to suit the needs of individual pupils and we seek to develop positive character traits such as responsibility, perseverance, integrity, courage and honesty. Students have access to an extremely wide range of opportunities to engage with activities outside of the classroom. These include extra-curricular clubs, sport, music, travel, enrichment activities and leadership opportunities.

By selecting the school you are becoming part of a great tradition. I hope that your son or daughter gets as much out of being here as many generations have successfully done so in the past.

We hope you enjoy browsing through our web site. Our prospectus is available here. Please let us know if you would like us to send you a hard copy of this or any of the other documentation on our site.
