Junior Doctor Visit!

On Friday afternoon, Dr Beth Jones came in to speak to Year 10 pupils about life in medical school and about her experience as a junior doctor.

She spoke about the exciting opportunities available to junior doctors, such as working abroad in places like Sri Lanka (and how they use coconuts as IV drips!). She also mentioned the different places you are able to work as a junior doctor, such as cruise ships, sports clubs & air ambulances, and she shared a bit about what the day to day looks like for both a junior doctor, as well as for University students in medical school.

She gave our Year 10 students tips on what they need to be doing now and in the next few years to support them getting into medical school, and also gave insight into the wide variety of other job opportunities available to them too , other than being a doctor.

The Year 10 pupils were engaged and some stayed behind to ask some thoughtful and interesting questions afterwards.

Thank you to the Year 10 students who attended, and thank you to Dr Beth Jones for giving up her time to come and inspire the students!
